So Proud!

I wanted to take a second to publicly congratulate my husband on successfully completing his Master's of Science in Structural Engineering yesterday. I could not be more proud or impressed with him. 5 years of hard work and extreme dedication came to a close yesterday when he successfully presented his Thesis and passed his exam. He never ceases to amaze me: working full time, constantly working on the house, finding time to work with high school students and play on worship team at church, spending time with me and Abbey, and never a word of complaint. He is an amazing work ethic and I am so blessed an honored to be his wife. So congratulations Jeremy, I am so proud of you!

(This isn't actually Abbey and her mom, but I forgot to bring my camera so I don't have any pictures of them playing together)

In other news, I had some things I had to take care of in Davis yesterday also so I was planning on going with him. My mom had offered to come over and let Abbey out of her crate and feed her her dinner and play with her, but I was still feeling horrible about leaving her for 8 hours in her crate. We have remained in contact with the wonderful family that bred Abbey (and her 5 siblings)and found out they were puppy-sitting her sister for the week. They had asked if Abbey would like to come over and play and it just worked out perfectly! We were able to drop her off at their hosue on our way out of town with easy hearts knowing that she was safe and having fun. I didn't spend the whole afternoon worrying about her because I knew she was having a blast. Boy was I right! When we got there to pick her up around 9:30, she was so tired she couldn't even keep her eyes open! When we got home, I took her out to go potty and she wouldn't even stand up. It is now 8:30 and she is still fast asleep! I know she played hard and had so much fun!

Thank you Espy's for taking such good care of our baby!!

Genius

Just a quick note to say that Jer and I are pretty sure Abbey is a genius.

At just over two months old she can (on command)

* Sit
* Wait (She will sit there while you back up across the room with a treat)
* Come
* Drop a toy

We are so impressed with her and she hasn't even been to puppy school yet!

Abbey's Photo Shoot Part I

During the first week Abbey was home, we took her over to Auntie Reen's for a photo shoot. Abbey was such a good girl and very photogenic!

Thanks Auntie Reen for such beautiful pictures of our baby girl!

I think it is only letting me upload 4 pictures at a time since they are so big, so check out all the different parts of this post to see all the pics!

Thanksgiving

What a great past week and a half we have had with our new baby. My dear friend Jenny was here for Abbey's entire first week home-what a blessing! A puppy is a full time job for two people! It was so great to spend the week with such a good friend, relaxing, shopping, laughing, baking, and keeping things out of Abbey's mouth. Jenny was such a good sport and was such a huge help with the puppy! I don't think I would have made it to the bathroom if it weren't for her! She is sorely missed around here and we can't wait for her next visit!

Thanksgiving was a day full of family, food and fun! Abbey made it to 3 different Thanksgiving dinners without a single accident! She is well loved and all the families welcomed her with open arms. We are so blessed with loving and supportive people around us and Thanksgiving is a great day to realize and reflect on that.

Around the house, Abbey is a great puppy. She still has a few accidents here and there when we aren't watching her close enough, but for the most part she is able to hold it and go potty outside. She doesn't tell us when she has to go, so we take frequent trips outside.

Abbey's favorite things to do are chew, bite, and chew and...bite ;) Ok, well she also loves to cuddle and play with her toys :) She is so sweet; when I am cooking dinner she will come and lay across my feet and fall asleep. (Makes cooking a little difficult, but melts my heart).Jer has really been working with her on "sit" "come" and "out" She definitely knows all three words, she is just rather selective about when she will obey them. She is so smart and we think training her will be a cinch. She also has recently found a new love: the tennis ball. She went crazy when we brought her one. She instinctively knew to fetch it, it was hilarious to watch! She was so excited about getting it, she would run full speed and then slide on the hardwood floor trying to stop herself. I couldn't stop laughing.

Her skin is so much better, she barely scratches at all anymore and I don't see any flakes. Maybe we'll try another bath next week :)

In two more weeks she goes to the vet for her next round of shots and a check-up. I think she is really healthy, but I am looking forward to the vet confirming that for me. I am so paranoid about her getting sick so it will put my heart at ease to know she is healthy.

She is also growing way to fast. I am looking forward to the puppy stage being over, but I also want her to stay a cuddly puppy forever. She is getting cuter and cuter everyday.

Ok, that is a long update, but here are some new pictures of the past few days. I will try and upload the video of her chasing the tennis ball for your enjoyment!

Love to you all, thanks for checking in our baby!
