Fitting Right In

It has been a week since Abbey has been home with us, and she is fitting right in! She is such a good girl! She loves to cuddle, and she is so social with all the people who come to see her. She has already met almost all her family, even her uncle Quincy (quite the fun night!) She loves all her toys and is already being spoiled by grandparents! She sleeps really well in her crate and is doing very well with potty training. She was itching and scratching all the time and I could see that her skin was dry and flaky, so I called the vet and they said it was a normal thing for growing puppies to have dry skin. They recommended this dietary supplement (which we got) and giving her an oatmeal bath. She doesn't mind the supplement but the bath was not such a success. We bathed her in the laundry room sink and I think the deep basin made her nervous. After the bath she was so fluffy and exhausted! She cuddled on our lap forever, it was so sweet! She is the cutest puppy on earth (in my unbiased opinion). I love her more and more every day and couldn't imagine our family without her!

Feel free to leave comments on the blog, I sometimes feel like I update it but no one reads it, so if you do like reading about her, let me know!

Hi Kelly,
We love reading your blogs and seeing what new things Abbey is doing. We can't believe how much she has grown! We are so happy that she is so intensely loved.

Hey Guys,
Abby's sister "Pinky" just went to her permanent home today. She was the last in the litter to leave home. She went to a good home with two kids to play with.

That is exactly what happened to Ruby when she was a pup (dry itchy skin). We went to a holistic vet who told us right away that it was a food allergy. We switched to a food he recommended and that cleared it right up. We feed Ruby Natural Balance Duck & Potato and she has not had skin problems since. It is spendy but good food.
Abby should have no problem eating that food since she has had it before. The pups would eat that instead of the Eukanuba Puppy food when both were put out for them. If you try the Natural Balance, make sure she eats only that food (no treats or table scraps) for a while until you see that her skin is better.

Kind regards,
Dave E.
